Quality Audits for Improved Performance starts with a two-day class designed for those with little or no knowledge of how to perform and report quality audits. It is a basic course of instruction and tied to no particular quality management system standard. Those using ISO 9001, FDA, Aerospace, and even Homegrown have all found the training valuable. Due to the interactive nature of this course, a maximum of 24 participants may attend. They should come from all areas of the firm.
Each step in an effective quality audit is described and then followed by a workshop. The highlight of the class is a simulated internal audit of a small chemical company on the morning of the second day. Participants take the data gathered in the morning and develop a finding that will appeal to the management team of the organization. Upon completion, participants will understand the differences between inspection and audit. This course emphasizes trust, understanding , and improvement. It is applicable to both internal auditing and supplier auditing.
The third day is spent conducting an actual practice audit at your plant site. The process is flowcharted and checklist questions are developed. The interviews of plant personnel are limited to one hour, just before lunch. Following lunch, participants process the data and prepare a report for presentation to the supervisors of the area just audited. The interactive nature of this practicum allows for but 12 participants (unless an additional facilitator from your company is available).
Two-day version (without the practicum) is also offered, for those that are time-pressed.

I charge a course fee plus travel expenses. You provide meeting space, data projector for my laptop, food and beverages. You reproduce course notes from my master sheets (about 100 pages), if you contract directly with me. Course completion certificates provided after the event, upon request.
